The 2016 flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo has reiterated his party’s commitment to restore allowances for trainee nurses and teachers when voted into office.
Delivering what he termed ‘The Real State of the Nation Address’ at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra on Monday, Nana Addo said he “will restore nurses and teachers allowances”.
The allowance was scrapped by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) with trainees now going in for Student’s Loan.
According to government, the allowance had outlived its usefulness.
