Inspite of the heavy downpour this morning, the District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe in the Ashanti region Hon. Joseph Akwasi Asuming has today Monday 10 June 2019 visited various examination centers in the district .
A total of 104, 461, made up of 52,945 males and 51,516 females writing this year’s 2019 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Ashanti Region have began the exams today.
The purpose for the visit was to have a clear view of how the examination is being conducted and to interact with both the candidates and their invigilators .
The centers visited by the Honorable member who was accompanied by the District Education Director include St George’s SHS ,Nyame Ani D/A Jhs ,Jachie Pramso SHS and Beposo SHS.
Otec news Derrick Ekuoba Gyasi can report that in all his rounds ,Hon. Asuming advised the candidates to work hard to enable them pass the examination well as this exam is the beginning of their educational life.
He further entreated them not to enter the examination hall with any foreign material apart from the approved by the authorities.
On the part of the District educational Directorate, the education Director for the District Mrs Augustina Konadu Yiadom said the Bosomtwe district registered three thousand one hundred and fifty five (3155 ) candidates made up of thousand five hundred and ninety one( 1591)boys and thousand five hundred and sixty four( 1564) girls .
She said further hinted that out of the total number of students who registered for the exams only two males failed to show up for the exam with the specific reason unknown .
Mrs Konadu Yiadom advised the students to have the can-do spirit as the exams is just an assessment of what they have learned.
“See the invigilators as one of your teachers ,do away with fear and have courage that you are going to pass .she added.
