Ghana Have Better Pitches Than UK – Prof Peter Twumasi

Director General of the National Sports Authorities [NSA], Professor Twumasi has shockingly claimed that Ghana has quality pitches compared to the United Kingdom, UK.

Pitches

According to him, having visited Birmingham stadium in the UK, it was full of dust.

Ghana have struggled to meet CAF’s requirement of pitches.

Ahead of the 2022 World Cup playoff against Nigeria, the country was given conditional approval by CAF since the Baba Yara Stadium was not up to the standard, same as the Accra Sports Stadium.

Despite CAF’s inspection team deeming Ghana’s stadiums not up to the standard, Peter Twumasi believes the country’s stadium managers are on the right track despite the criticisms.

“When I went to the UK, Birmingham stadium was full of dust but people say we don’t water our stadium,” he told Accra-based Angel FM.

“Ghanaians should not panic, we are in charge and we have the men,” he added.

The Cape Coast Stadium is however yet to meet CAF standards as well.
