Ghanaian Politicians Don’t Deserve The Trust Of Citizens – Lydia Forson

Renowned Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has indicated that all politicians in Ghana have done nothing to warrant the trust and support of the people.

She is of the belief that if politicians in the West African country had shown that the people can trust them, they would have had the support of the people wholeheartedly.

But over the years, that has not been the case as they have been engaged in only things that have made the citizens lose trust in them.

She made this known in a tweet replying to someone who shared concerns on why Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was implementing e-levy when he fought VAT.

The follower said “You can’t expect citizens to have absolute faith in leaders who haven’t done enough for us to trust them. There are many Ghanaians willing to welcome, support government efforts if they trust them. But please stop making our lack of trust, unfounded, we’re not stupid”.

Adding that “If really did hit; an admittance of this would go a long way to build the trust need to mobilize people to support government efforts”.

“What do you call a mismanaged economy, corruption and several poor decisions leading to a failing economy and having citizens PAY for these mistakes? Is that not punishment? I really don’t like these takes that try to sweep what politicians have done under the rug,” she said.
