Two Male Nurses Rescued A Pregnant Women Due For Labor On Road Side [Photos]

Two nurses in the Ahafo Ano South East region of Ghana rescued the lives of a pregnant woman and her baby.

Nurses

The health nurses, Emmanuel Akumnyoro (A Registered Community Health Nurse) and Emmanuel Asare, were stationed at the Essienkyem CHPS compound in the Ahafo Ano South East District, in a little community called Essienkyem.

The deteriorated status of the roads has been exacerbated by frequent rains, which have exacerbated the bad quality of the roads in the surrounding villages.

The women were set to give birth, but due to the terrible state of the village’s roads, getting a motorbike was an issue.

After receiving a call from the police, the nurse went to the help of Vida Opoku, a 29-year-old lady.

The woman had already given birth on the bare floor of the road close in the filthy water, within reach of the brave heroes, with the chord intact.

The lady and her baby (a boy) were spared because of the quick efforts of these nurses.

According to the mother, even though the nurses are not certified midwives, they were able to save the mother due to their professional experience.

According to Mr. Emmanuel Akumnyoro (RCHN), the condition inside the facility is particularly terrible, as bats and other insects have infested it.

He also pleaded with the government to help the residents of Essienkyem and its environs, saying that they all deserve a share of the national cake.
