GHc100 could Buy 8 Gallons Of Fuel Under Mahama But Two Under Akufo-Addo – Joshua Akamba

Akufo-Addo

Joshua Akamba, the National Organizer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lamented the country’s economic hardship, claiming that while GHS100 could buy eight gallons of fuel under former President John Dramani Mahama and his National Democratic Congress administration, the same cannot be said today.

Mr Akamba said on Thursday, April 21,2022, on the Ghana Yensom morning show hosted by Kwame Obeng Sarkodie on Accra 100.5 FM, that when Mr Mahama was president, a driver could fill his or her tank and still laugh about it, but now drivers fill their tanks and cry because of the money they have to cough up to pay.

“This is what Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the economic messiah and leader of the economic management team, has done to Ghanaians,” he said.

GHS100 can barely cost two gallons of fuel under Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidency he claimed, adding that GHS100 is less than two liters of diesel.

“I live around Cantonments area in Accra and my office is at Asylum Down and I spend GHS100 on fuel every day,” he said, “and if you juxtapose that with the minimum pay of 13.5 x 30 days, how much is that?” he asked.

He claimed that under President Akufo-Addo, people are paying more for fuel than is necessary.

He described the President as “wicked” for making life tough for regular Ghanaians while flying in government jets.

“All I can say is that this government is evil,” he said.

He explained that drivers spend a large portion of their minimal income on fuel alone, leaving them unable to pay for school fees and other necessities.
