Another media brutality has erupted in the country where a 27 year old Kumasi based reporter for Adinkra TV , Samuel Mensah known popularly as Nana Nyarko has been assulted by Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly’s taskforce earlier on today at about 7 AM.
The incident occured in front of Kumasi Cultural Center during when the journalist was taking videos shots of City guards in their proccess of assaulting a hawker who they thought was transacting business inspite of the ban of selling on pavements.
The guards numbering over 5 and a military man ranked WO, whose names have not been identified mercilessly assaulted the the newsman with the intention that he might expose them of the wrong done.
The guards further on picked him up and detained him for about 3 hours of which later on, his colleagues from various media houses intercepted for his release.
His bail took about 3 hours because one Master Bright, the leader of the taskforce was reluctant to give up the journalist had it not been the intervention of the KMA’s PRO Mr. Okumah Nyame and a section of the media men.
Fortunately, the newsman did not sustain any wounds but he is said to be in pains.
KMA boss, Mr. Osei Asibey and the GJA is yet to speak on the matter.
