NPP Reschedules Constituency Elections To April 28 – May 2

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set a new timetable for electing Constituency Executives across the country.

The party had planned to hold the elections between April 24, 2022, and April 28, 2022, however the recent instability that characterized the Polling Station elections prompted it to be moved to between April 28, 2022, and May 2, 2022.

Other dates, according to NPP General Secretary John Boadu, remain unchanged.

“At first, the National Executive Committee agreed that the constituency elections would take place between April 28 and May 2. We have, however, postponed it. However, everything is on track. In actuality, submissions will be accepted and closed on April 19th and 20th, with vetting of potential candidates taking place on April 21st and 22nd.”

“Any restitution will likewise take place between the 23rd and 24th of April.”

In several sections of the country, the party’s Polling Station elections have been disrupted by violence over disagreements about the album to be used. In other locations, some have even sought legal action to put the polls on hold.
