Mohammed Salisu confirmed his decision not to represent Ghana at the international level when Alhaji Grusah contacted him.
The Southampton defender has turned down numerous calls from the Black Stars. He had stated that he was “not ready” to represent Ghana.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) attempted everything it could to persuade him to change his mind, but it was futile.
After that, enticing Mohammed Salisiu to join the Black Stars before the World Cup final against Nigeria in March was challenging.
The initiative has failed. Mohammed Salisu has declared he would not play for the Black Stars yet, according to Alhaji Grusah.
Mohammed Salisu said that if he were his son, Alhaji Grusah would not persuade him to play for Ghana.
Mohammed Salisu refused to join the Black Stars. His furious retort to Alhaji Karim Grusah was:
“The Chairman of the Black Stars assigned me the task of speaking with Salisu because he is from Kumasi. I called his father, and he put me in touch with him. Salisu flatly told me to stay out of his business. He asked if, if he were my son, I would advise him to play for Ghana.
“When I called him, he was furious. He insisted several times that I stay out of the situation because he doesn’t want to get into a fight with me. I’m not going to get involved in his situation again. I’m not sure what his issue is with the GFA, but I’m not going to call him again.”
Mohammed Salisu, is currently, one of the top defenders in the Premier League. He leads the list as far as interceptions made this season are concerned.
