Yahaya Salifu the Deputy Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region claim that, former President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wouldn’t have survived like they are doing if they were in the ones in government.
According to him, the country survived under the Npp as a result of the strong economy the government had built. The free water, free electricity, workers getting paid even in the times they were not working were all made possible because of NPP was in power. To him, all these would not have happened if NDC was in power.
He also made mention of the District Education scholarships that have been made possible under the government. According to him it has released the burden on MPs who used the District common Fund to fund these scholarships in the past.
He of course lamented on the Free shs and used the just ended national science and maths quiz as a yardstick that the quality of learning has improved looking at the level of performances from various schools. He said this to attack those who said the free shs was going to reduce the quality of education in the secondary level.
