A baby believed to have been dumped by the mother has been found dead in a box at Kasoa Walantu in the Central Region.
According to an eyewitness, Nana Akwasi Agyemang whose building the baby was dumped behind, he saw the box on Tuesday evening when he’d gone out of his room to urinate.
He told Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan that he first saw the box about three days ago but his attention was not drawn to it so much and there was no urge for him to check the content until Tuesday evening.
Nana Akwasi Agyemang said out of curiosity, he decided to open the box and see what exactly is in it but realized that the box which was covered with polythene was heavy.
He added that his curiosity increased and so he quickly opened the box only to see the lifeless body of the baby almost decaying.
The eyewitness said he quickly called his neighbors to witness the unfortunate incident which struck them with shock. They subsequently reported the case to Kasoa Police for investigation.
The body was then conveyed by the Kasoa police and the NADMO officials for burial.
Meanwhile, the Police are on a manhunt for the mother of the baby.
