Government Borrowed To Fund Politically Motivated NABCo Initiative – Executive Director

Executive Director of the policy think tank Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovation (ILAPI), Mr. Peter Bismark Kwofi, argued that the Nation Builders’ Corps (NABCO) was not intended to eliminate unemployment.

Because the government lacked the finances to fund the project, the NABCO venture was funded through loans.

“I have it on good authority that the government borrowed to fund the project, and that if the borrowing does not materialize, the project will suffer.”

He claimed that the NABCO strategy put a pressure on the government’s budget, and that it lacked a policy paper or blueprint outside of the budget.

“On NABCO, there was no document or blueprint. They didn’t have any documentation about the departure strategy. He went on to say, “There was nothing like that.”

NABCO was a training program, not an employment module, according to him, but the NPP promised beneficiaries permanent work in their second term.

It was a vote-buying job scheme designed to persuade beneficiaries to vote for the NPP.

He believes the administration would have succeeded if it had taken its time and controlled the policy as a socio-economic strategy.Government Borrowed To Fund Politically Motivated NABCo Initiative – Executive Director
