Akufo-Addo’s Government Has Set Up More Factories Than Any Other Since Independence – Bawumia

Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has praised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) One District One Factory Program as one of the country’s most successful programs.

The initiative to construct a factory in each district of Ghana, according to the Veep, makes the Akufo-Addo government the best since independence in terms of factory establishment.

“We have more factories established up under our government than any other government since independence,” Dr Bawumia said on Tuesday, November 2, while speaking to an audience at Ashesi University.

The 1D1F program, he believes, is a ground-up method to boosting industry.

During the event, titled ‘Transforming An Economy Through Digitalisation: The Ghana Story,’ Bawumia also stated that the Akufo-Addo administration has created more jobs than any other government in the Fourth Republic’s first term.

“We’ve had a positive trade balance for four years in a row, the best in more than a decade,” he continued.

The Vice President went on to discuss the NPP’s accomplishments in the area of digitalisation.

He urged the country’s youth to take advantage of the government’s digital transformation efforts.

Dr. Bawumia described digitization as a “youth revolution” that offers enormous opportunities for Ghana’s bright young people in terms of job creation and enabling them to contribute more to the country’s growth.

“Over the last four years, the Ghanaian economy has witnessed tremendous digital transformation, with several technology advances and e-commerce popping up.”

“A rising body of factual evidence demonstrates the capacity of digital technology to considerably create jobs,” he continued.
