Costituency Youth Organizer of Asokwa in the Ashanti region who is known as JAMES KOJO PEPPRAH is calling on the government to cancel the contract awarded to the community police Penn under the NATIONAL YOUTN EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (NYEP).
According to him, when President Akuffo addo won the 2016 polls, he told the public he’s going to eradicate unemployment, also he promised to employ 15,000 police assistant personnel.
However, here’s is the case that those 15,000 personnel are going back home after 2 years contract and this can also increase both poverty and at the same time armed robbery because, those who will be going home have acquired a lot of skills and training before they were posted to their various station accros the country and if they are sent home , they can used that same skills to harm innocent civilians . He added.
Also , Government and I.G.P should get in touch with all regional police commanders to training them well as the police used to go for 6 months ~ 1year intensive training and recruit them all into the police to help in reduction of corruption and arresting of Armed Robbers. He reaveld
