I am ready to lead NPP ‘break the 8’ and protect Akufo-Addo’s legacies – Asa B

The Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) Stephen Asamoah Boateng popularly called ‘Asa B’ has expressed his readiness to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win power in 2024 general elections to break the eight-year routine.

According to him, when given the nod for the national chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he will use his experiences gathered in the political front to protect the legacies of Prez Akufo-Addo by ensuring NPP retains the seat.

He made this remark on Anopa Bofo morning show hosted by Kofi Adoma Nwanwani on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

“My previous presidential aspiration was just to pave the way for my chairman dream. So it’s true, by God’s grace and simplicity the chairmanship dream will come to pass with humbleness”

“So we are going to get hold of it and in 2024, it’s not going to be easy at all because it is going to be crucial in contest. If we’re not careful to protect Prez Akufo-Addo legacies our rivals [NDC] will come and reverse them. we will do it well so we can break the eight in 2024 to enable Prez Akufo-Addo handover the barton to an NPP Prez to make the economy stable” Stephen Asamoah Boateng observed.

The former Information and Tourism Minister under Ex president John Agyekum Kuffuor’s administration further indicated that to make such achievement a reality, one’s need to be sorrunded with people hence his consultations between him and some relevant stakeholders including council of elders in the party are on the best way forward.

Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng emphasised that, the need to touch base with the grassroots and footsoldiers of the party in a bid to help propagate the work of government and ideals of the party cannot be undermine.
