Your Daughter Will Be The First Victim Of ‘Do Or Die’ In 2024 Election – Abronye to Mahama

The Bono Regional Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwame Baffoe Abronye has predicted that the former president, John Dramani Mahama and his daughter Farida Mahama will fall victim to the ‘Do or die’ mantra.

According to him, John Mahama’s ‘Do or die’ chant incites electoral violence, and should not be taken likely.

Abronye argued that an interpretation by then-President John Mahama to candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s “All die be die” statement as being bloodshed, equally applies to his assertion that the 2024 election shall be a “Do or die” affair at the polling stations.

He explained that the comment by the former President must be condemned lest the repercussions could be very overwhelming for himself and the family, as well as the entire nation.

Speaking on Neat FM’s morning show, Abronye noted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Ghanaians will not entertain any threat of violence in the next general elections, adding that its peace that every Ghanaian expects in 2024.

He emphasized that whatever John Mahama contemplates; either peace of fire, shall be reciprocated at him and his family.

“If it is peace they want, they will have. If it is fire, we will give them fire. If Mahama wants peace in election 2024, he will have it but it’s the fire he wants then he will be the first including his daughter to suffer the wrath of political violence.

“She will be at the polling station as an agent of the NDC. How will you expect someone to risk his or her life when your daughter is there to do the same? And mind you, every political violence starts at the polling station and then escalates. If that happens, she cannot vanish. It can’t be possible. If that do or die happens, she will be a victim,” he elaborated.

Abronye clarified that as much as he doesn’t wish anything bad to befall the nation, it will be in the interest of John Mahama to retract those comments lest face the blame should anything happen in the country. He continued that it is unthinkable of a former president to go onto a public radio to make such a ‘reckless’ statement, adding that it is an indication that John Mahama is desperate for power.
