Chief Demarcate Government Lands, Sold Them Out After Abandoned Project For Years

The Nyab Gukpenaa has demarcated the land meant for government and bungalows at Norrip village in the northern region and sell them out without any consent after the operation of the Norrip project collapsed.

Nyab Gukpenaa together with the former regent of Jisonayili invaded the land and planted pillars and sold the plots to residents and private developers after the project was abandoned for some time.

Currently the place, which used to be Government’s property, has now turned into people’s plots with which they have started raising structures, building houses and doing whatever they want with the land.

According to reports, the bungalows that was built but left unoccupied has also been sold out by Nyab Gukpenaa.

Many residents close to the village has reacted to the news of the chief selling the lands. Others think it’s the wise decision because the government is supposed to have finished the project for the people. But others think it’s bad to sell lands that have already been handed over to the government.
