Farmer Shoots Ex-Wife, Kills Himself

A 37-year-old farmer Yaw Asare, has shot his wife, Abena Agatha, 28, to death after inviting her to his house at Akyem Hweakwae in the Birim North District of the Eastern Region.

It’s unclear what triggered the farmer to shoot his ex-wife in the chest at close range, and after committing the heinous crime he also ended up shooting himself.

According to Police reports the neighbors around said they heard gunshots in the room only to see the two persons dead in a pool of blood.

The Police said when they stormed the scene, they saw the bodies of the two lying in a pool of blood in the room.

The Police managed to retrieve a single barrel gun and spent shells close to the bodies.

The bodies were conveyed to Abirim government hospital where they were medically declared dead by Dr. Atta Larbi Sakyi out of gunshot wounds.

The bodies have been deposited at Mamaso Community Hospital mortuary for autopsy while police continue with the investigation.
