Construction machines left to rot following desertion of Ajumako Enyan Essiam road

Pupils in the Enyan Abaasa Community have taken advantage of the rusted machines and have created a playground around them, a situation dangerous to their health.

Angry Residents of Enyan Abaasa in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region are lamented over road constructions machines abandoned to rot in the bush.

Residents have expressed that ever since the late President John Evens Fiifi Atta Mills made an attempt to renovate their deplorable road, the construction machines have been left to decay in the bush after a change of government. The machines, they reported have become death traps to the pupils and residents in the area.

They have therefore called on the government to burn all the decomposed machines in the bush to avoid any accident at the Enyan Abaasa Community.

In an interview with Central Regional Soireenews Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful, the construction equipment belong to Kofi Job was to put the road in shape a week before elections with the aim of luring the inhabitants for more votes.

They complained that after the polls were declared in favour of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the job was deserted. They have given the contractor a one-month ultimatum to drive out his excavators, bulldozers and tipper trucks from the community else they will burn them all with authorities vested in them.

In addition, Enyan Abaasa Traditional Council Member, Mr Stephen Effah who is also an Opinion Leader in the Enyan Abaasa Community told Soireenews that pupils have taken advantage of the rusted machines and have created a playground around them, a situation dangerous to their health.

He, therefore, is appealing to the current government to immediately come to their aid and finish the road.

According to him failure to send away all the rotten machines will enable them to burn all of them for it is threatening their life’s especially the pupils in the community he added.

The District Chief Executive for Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Hon. Rev.Ransford Emmanuel Kwesi Nyarko on his part asserted that he took the office without seeing any appropriate documents regarding the road so it is up to the contractor to go for his rotten machines to make life better for the people in the area.

He hinted that he cannot use his District Common Fund to complete the stretch hence his advice to the angry residents to do whatever is possible to bring the said contractor on-site with the help of the Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, Hon. Casseal Ato Forson to continue and complete the road he added.
