Newborn baby found in bush at the Savelugu Municipality

A newborn baby girl has been found in a nearby bush close to Pong-Tamale Senior High School around the girl’s dormitory, in Pong-Tamale in the Savelugu Municipality of the Northern region.

The Mother of the newly born baby is yet to be identified but some community members and others have suspected the students.

The little girl was found in the bush, with marks on her body. She has since been taken to the Pong-Tamale Clinic for medical attention.

The Assemblymember for the area, Alhassan Iddrisu reported the incident to the police and they quickly rushed to the scene but could not find the baby. After enquiries, they were told she has been taken to the clinic by people who earlier came around.

The police proceeded to the health facility and realised that the newly born baby has been kept in the labour ward.

No arrest has been made yet and all effort to grab the suspect is on course.
