Despite our challenges, Ghana is in a far better shape today than previously – Gabby Otchere-Darko

Lawyer and long-standing member of the New Patriotic Party, Gabby Otchere-Darko believes although things do not appear great at the moment, Ghana is still in better shape than previously.

According to him, Ghana has come a long way and it is evident in the democracy the nation has been practising since 1992 yet the promise of Ghana is yet to be fulfilled.

Using the outbreak of COVID-19 and its attendant challenges on the economies of nations around the world as a yardstick, Gabby Otchere-Darko admitted that Ghana has been badly hit and should have done better.

Nonetheless, the nation can look back at all the years of military rule and change of governments and conclude that Ghana is certainly on the path to growth and development and things are in better shape than they were.

“After some 4/5 military regimes, & 4 republics, it’s fair to say, the Ghanaian promise is yet to be fully fulfilled. Also clear is that, despite the global impact of Covid-19 plus our own inherent challenges as a nation, Ghana is in a far better shape today than previously,” Gabby Otchere-Darko tweeted.

Meanwhile, a section of Ghanaians does not appear to be happy with the present conditions in the country. They have been calling on the government to fix the nation.
