When is Sarkodie going to do a song on Dumsor as he did during the time of Mahama? – Ghanaians react to frequent blackouts

During the presidency of former President Mahama, one of the many Ghanaians who was very vocal about the happenings in the country at the time was rapper Sarkodie.

Between 2013 and 2016, Sarkodie released about five songs which he used to address several issues of national interest. He was very strong on the intermittent supply of power which is called “Dumsor.”

The “Dumsor” menace hit Ghanaians so hard that celebrities like Yvonne Nelson, Prince David Osei et al had to stage a “Dumsor” vigil to express their displeasure over the unpleasant phenomenon.

The ‘Dumsor’ mantra featured hugely in the 2016 election which to a large extent ensured that President Akufo-Addo emerged victoriously.

Well, in recent months, Ghanaians have been complaining about the Dumsor thing while some are still surprised that those who used to chastise the former government for the same sin are quiet this time.

One of these people is Sarkodie who released, ‘Masses” “Dumsor” “Inflation” amongst other songs to speak truth to power but has gone into perpetual hibernation this time.

With Gridco forewarning Ghanaians of a load-shedding experience in April and the release of a timetable, Ghanaians believe it is time people like Sarkodie start to speak about the Dumsor thingy.
