Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) launches Tax and Good Governance at Sunyani in the Bono Region.
Revenue is one of the major ways to impede poverty and lack of development in a country. According to the Assistant Commissioner, Tax Audit Mr. Asare Joseph explained the need for every individual in the country to file his or her returns truth and faithfully. He added that, the program is an initiative of the Ministry of Finance and the Ghana Revenue Authority which is to sensitize Ghanaians on the need to pay their taxes which no individual, as a good citizens should shirk.
This particular program is special, because it demonstrate yet another step in our role to fulfilling the vision of the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda of building a self financing and sustainable economy of the nation.
Mr. Asare concluded that, there are penalties one will incur if fail to file his or her returns in axiom.
Nana Bofotia Boampensem, Krontihene of Sunyani Traditional Area, was present at the program which he urged all Ghanaians especially politicians, to be faithful and truthful to use the tax payer’s monies to boost the development of the country’s economy.
