Fans of two of Ghana’s dancehall heavyweights Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are comparing and contrasting the content and quality of songs churned out recently by their favourite artists.
On January 11 2021, Shatta Wale released an Afrobeat dancehall track he titled 1Don. A song that sums up who he is and how far he has come as far as his music career is concerned. The 1Don is not only the name of the track but also a new description of who Shatta Wale is or had become.
As we know, Stonebwoy has also been describing himself with the title 1Gad and has released a song with the same title perhaps with the same inspiration Shatta Wale had.

The 1Gad rack which was released on February 5, 2021, also has the Afrobeat vibe with a blend of dancehall. The song speaks about how resilient he has been as a musician and the ups and downs he has had to deal with on his way to the top.
Fans have reacted to these two songs especially when Shatta Wale says he is the 1Don while Stonebwoy believes he is the 1Gad…so these fans wanted to find who indeed did best with his self-praise track.

According to the reactions seen across social media, many believe Shatta Wale’s 1Don is miles ahead of Stonebwoy’s 1Gad track in terms of vibe, lyrics and content. They believe Stonebwoy rushed to put this song out to counteract Shatta Wale although the Bhim Nation president has said he made this song way back in January 2020.
