Robbers attack Kumasi traders going to Burkina to buy tomatoes, cash stolen

Two persons are currently nursing various gunshot wounds at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital after they were attacked by masked armed robbers at Pusu-Namogo near Tongo in the Upper East Region.

One of the victims had his intestines gushing out after being shot in the abdomen by the robbers numbering four who also made away with various huge sums of money.

Police sources reveal to that the victims both traders were on board a white DAF truck with registration number AS- 4295-17 loaded with wooden tomato crates drove from Kumasi heading towards Burkina-Faso to purchase tomatoes.

On reaching Pusu-Namogo near Tongo, they were attacked by four armed men all masked and wielding Ak 47 riffles. The suspects fired indiscriminately into the truck and robbed on of the victims of cash in the sum of GH¢10,000.00 and CFA 2,750. Another was robbed GH¢5,000 after being shot at.

Victim Adams Sulemana sustained gunshot wounds on his right rib, left arm and abdomen with his intestine gushing out whilst victim Ataah Kosua also sustained a gunshot wounds on her right thigh

The victims have since been rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital for treatment while police investigators retrieved five AK 47 empty shells at the scene and kept for evidential purpose.
