Man busted for stealing 2 goats at Nuaso

A 36-year-old man who identified himself as Michael Tetteh has been busted by community members in Okwenya in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern region for allegedly stealing two goats.

Unit Committee chairperson of the area, Paul Senyemeh disclosed robbery has become rampant in the area, a situation he claims has claimed many lives.

According to him, motorists and commuters have been robbed at gunpoint.

He said residents have been complaining about their missing goats and that they took it upon themselves to investigate the situation.

Narrating the order of events that led to the arrest of the alleged thief, Mr. Senyemeh said he got a tip-off from a native that a non-resident was transporting two goats from the town.

He said he immediately mobilized some residents to chase the suspect who confirmed he stole the goats from Nuaso, a town in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.

The suspect has since been handed over to the police for interrogation while the goats have been left in the custody of the police. An announcement has also been made for residents whose goats are missing to go to the police station to identify and possibly collect them.
