Five injured in Dzorwulu road accident

Residents of Dzowulo did not enjoy this afternoon as two drivers lost control of their car and crashed on the highway at Dzowulo bus terminal junction. A water truck overloaded with sachets of water and bottle packed water was coming from Accra whiles a Mercedes Benz spinter who was about to exit Dzowulo crashed together leaving five seriously injured.

The spinter driver according to eye witness was offloading passengers and loading at the same time at the junction (Dzowulo bus stop). After loading the car, the driver forgot to look into the drivers mirror to check for any incoming traffic before using the highway, the spinter immediately tried to start and move onto the highway when the truck carrying water was on full speed coming from behind it.

The spinter driver decided to speed up but accelerating was not enough to stop a full truck on maximum speed from not hiting it. This lead to the truck driver hitting behind the spinter from the back. Eye witness accounts that, the truck driver wasn’t at fault since it was a highway so the spinter should have checked before getting onto the road.

Three passengers from the backseat of the spinter mini bus sustained serious injuries whiles the truck attendants and the truck drivers sustained same injuries. It took the intervention of passerbys to come help relief them from their pains. Police has not reported to the scene yet, though all five people who sustained serious injuries have been sent to the 37 military hospital for treatment.
