Sarkodie made history last Friday when he won the best collaboration at the Sound City MVP Awards held at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, Lagos in Nigeria.
Sarkodie’s hit single ‘Pain Killer’ featuring Nigerian singer Runtown won him the award.
The Ghanaian rapper, who recently embarked on a UK tour to entertain his fans and promote his latest album, beat stiff competition from Tiwa Savage, Toofan, AKA, among other artistes.
At the awards ceremony, a number of celebrities and personalities from various African countries were honoured for their contributions towards the development of the creative industry in their various countries and Africa as a whole.
The awards scheme is also geared towards projecting excellence and giving support to young emerging and creative talents in Africa.
The Soundcity MVP Awards Festival is an event organised by Soundcity TV to reward musicians and performers across Africa.
