“My Money Speaks English For Me”- Chairman Wontumi Jabs Critics

The CEO of Wontumi Communications, Chairman Wontumi known in private life as Bernard Antwi Boasiako has hit back at his critics for saying that “he is defective in the speaking of  the English  language.”

He said that, “merely speaking good English does not create wealth that is why there are some Ghanaians who speak good English yet have contributed virtually nothing in support of  our national development efforts.”

Chairman Wontumi who was speaking exclusively on Wontumi Radio and TV noted that, improving his English vocabulary would not give him any advantage in the conduct of his business because communicating in his native Akan language is enough to meet his objectives.

“We have a lot of intellectuals who pride themselves as excellent communicators in English and have even written books using their knowledge in the Whitman’s language but they are wallowing in poverty.

“The type of work I do does not require that, I wear tie or suit to make money. Mine is to dirty my hands before feeding myself and family.”

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, recalled how he was once referred to as “an illiterate” by a former Minister of Tourism, but retorted that, “Zita Okai-Koi with all her education virtually depends on others for her livelihood.”

According to him, it is good that, some NPP members have made their intentions to attack only John Mahama but he will lash at any NDC supporter who goes on the offensive.

The business mogul stressed that, he is like a football defender whose role is to foil any attempt by the opponent to invade his goal area.

“If NDC criticized the EC boss, Jane Mensah and staged demonstrations against her then I will also criticize Jane Naana strongly if she goes astray because every Jane be Jane.” He emphasized
