Armed Robbers Dressed As Covid 19 Health Workers Rob Mall

An unknown group of men believed to be armed robbers, dressed as health care workers robbed Scottsville Mall in South Africa on Wednesday, June 3rd 2020.

The armed robbers stole a heavy but undisclosed amount of money from the mall. This information was according to the Checkers Supermarket at the Scottsville Mall.

According to the local reports of the media, the robbers entered the mall, dressed as Covid 19 health workers, as they could be seen wearing masks, face shields, protective gloves, and white laboratory jackets that points them out as Covid 19 inspectors.

From the same reports, the money that was stolen from the pension payout point at the Checkers. Pensioners were still standing outside the mall while the unknown robbery was still ongoing. The exact amount of money stolen from the pension point can’t be exactly fished out but it was more than 200,000 South African Rand (which is equivalent to GH¢ 69,244.68).

Local reports say there were no gunshots, fatalities/deaths or injuries. According to IOL News, the police have started their investigations at the mall and around it, gathering information on how to get hold of the men who used false appearance to rob.
