Former Ghana head Coach Goran Stevanovic, claims current Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew once told him he was the best coach he has ever worked with at the international level after he was sack from his post.
The Serbian tactician, who led the Black Stars to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, lost to winner Zambia in the semis and got fired right after the tourney.
I’m very happy to coach the black stars of Ghana,it was a big challenge in my coaching career and I must say it was a pleasure leading such a great country as a coach to the highest level(Afcon 2012),”
Despite being sack from his post as Black Stars head coach, Stevanovic insists he loves Ghana, adding he has really missed the four-time African champions.
”I have really miss Ghana and I use to talk to some of the players like Michael Essien,Sulley Muntari,Asamoah Gyan,Kwadwo Asamoah,John Painstil,Dede Ayew and John Mensah,”
”Andre Ayew once told me,coach you are the best coach I’ve ever worked with at the national level,” Plavi, as he was affectionately called told Kumas-based Ashh FM in an interview.
”It will be difficult for me to chose my best ever Black stars player because of the love I have for these players and their love for me as a coach even this morning I spoke to Michael Essien,”
Goran Stevanovic, currently manages Chinese League Two club Qingdao Jonoon.
