Video: Nana Aba Anamoah Explains Feminism, Disagrees with Many Feminists

Broadcast Journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah might have surprised people when she disclosed in an interview with Kobby Kyei on Instagram that she disagrees with many feminists.

She said job opportunities should be allocated to a person based on the person’s ability to execute the assignment to the full expectations of the employer and not because of their sex.

She said,

“ Feminism is a movement which seeks for the welfare of both men and women. I Will not in any way advocate that someone should occupy a position because of their sex but only merit. The task should always be given to the person who is competent enough to execute the job.”

She continued,

“I don’t believe in fighting men for equality. Through my career, every single person who has held my hand to make me better was a man. I don’t believe in special treatment for anybody. I started working in the media together with some other men; I was the only girl, but I rose to prominence because I worked hard and kept learning to improve myself”
