Covid -19: Gov’t Spends $500 Daily On Quarantined Travelers In Luxurious Hotels -Reports

According to some media reports emerging has it that, $500 is being spent by the Ghana government to secure hotel accommodation for some air travelers who have been on mandatory quarantines in the country as a result of the coronavirus pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) killing thousands across the globe

“I’m in Ghana, I just arrived today and as you can see, I’m in a hotel, an expensive hotel in that manner. I just checked the price it’s about $500 per night”, a Nigerian who has been quarantined in Ghana revealed in a video sighted by Ghanawish.com

Speaking from his hotel somewhere Accra, right after his flight arrived in Ghana, authorities took him and all other passengers onboard to a hotel and booked rooms costing about $500 for them.

A total number of 1,030 such persons who arrived in Ghana have been quarantined according to the National Security.

“Definitely, not all of them will be critically ill and they are not, some of them may not be ill at all. But decision on them will be on individual case management issues. If you are not even found to be ill you still have to stay in quarantine for the mandatory 14 days. Earlier on we were getting indications that if you test negative we may release you after four days. But after technical advice we cannot do that so we have to keep you for the entire 14 days.” The Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu revealed.
