Air travelers across the globe who came into the country after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced the closure of the Ghanaian borders, are being treated to sumptuous meals and living large at some of the countries’ luxuries hotels under strict observation from health professionals.
The President on his 3rd address to the country on the coronavirus pandemic last weekend stated that the country’s borders including airports have been closed to air and road travels as a way of mitigating the effect of the deadly virus.
“All our borders that is by land, sea and air will be closed to human traffic for the next two weeks, beginning midnight on Sunday. Anybody who comes into the country, before midnight on Sunday, will be mandatorily quarantined and tested for the virus. This closure will not apply to goods, supplies and cargo.” The President said.
Ghanawish.com can however confirmed that per the President’s directive, travelers who arrived in the country were immediately bused to Marriott and Alisa Hotels where they are being observed amidst testing to ensure they are not carrying the virus.
It is gathered that these persons are living in these facilities at the expense of the state with some heaping praises on government for its initiative which is aimed at dealing with the pandemic that has so far killed thousands across the globe.
