According to the report, the suspect, a 25-year-old Moses Asamoah in an attempt to prevent arrest, struggled with the officers who were on duty to arrest him after his mother has reported him to the Greater Accra police command for harassing her for money.
The Public Relations Officer for the Greater Accra regional police command, DSP Afia Tenge confirming this to Kingdom News said the suspect, according to the mother, has once been mentally ill, stabbed two of the officers with a knife.
She said the police also in return shot him when he tried to stab another officer.
DSP Afia Tenge said both the officers and the suspect were taken to the police hospital for medical treatment and are currently responding to treatment.
DSP Afia Tenge also cautioned the public to always support the police instead of a suspect whenever they are on such duties.
