A Peacefmonline publication states that former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has been charged with fraud and corruption which is still connected to the exposé conducted by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The website adds that the embattled FA boss has been granted bail in the sum of ¢1 million.
Former Northern Regional Representative of the GFA, Abdulai Alhassan has also been hit with same charges.
Victoria Asiedu who is the Principal State Attorney on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, told an Accra High Court that the two individuals implemented a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a ghost company to secure sponsorship for the Ghana Premier League in 2017.
Both are required to report every Friday at the police CID.
If you may recall, the number 12 expose led to the resignation of the former FA Boss and his lifetime ban by FIFA.
Kwesi Nyantakyi’s long reign as the boss of the FA came crashing down when his corruptible deeds, together with his cohorts were exposed by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
He was subsequently expelled from the position he held in world football governing body, FIFA which also forced him out office as the GFA President.
Information from PeaceFMonline was also used in this report.
