Shallow Minded People Will Endorse Or Advertise An Alcoholic Beverage – Ambolley

Celebrated highlife musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley waded into the brawl between Ghanaian celebrities and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) over the ban placed on them.

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) banned Ghanaian celebrities from advertising alcoholic beverages as an adherence to a World Health Organization (WHO) policy.

According to the Authority, the ban was part of efforts to ensure that minors are protected from being lured into alcoholism.

The veteran artist, Gyedu Blay Ambolley throwing his support behind the FDA in an interview with on 3FM’s ShowBuzz stressed that it’s was very necessary for the FDA to take such a decision due to the future of Ghana’s youth.

According to him, no celebrity in his or her right sense will endorse or advertise for alcoholic beverages because it’s very destructive.

“All those celebrities who have proper sense will not endorse alcohol because alcohol is not good.” He noted.

He added that many of today’s music videos features the youth hence promoting alcoholic products that could easily influence these young ones.

“Celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages shouldn’t be allowed at all. Music and alcohol shouldn’t be allowed because of it’ll be enticing the youth. If you look at music videos, it all features young boys and girls. Alcohol must not be in the system for the young boys and girls to feast on it.” He added.
