LPG Kofi Akpaloo Gives John Mahama Close of Thursday To Respond To Airbus Scandal

The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo has given former President John Mahama close of Thursday to respond to allegations surrounding the Airbus saga or they will expose him.

He stated that the party has its information about the entire brouhaha surrounding the corruption scandal of the purchase of the Airbus under the former NDC government as he calls on Mr. Mahama to respond to the matter to save his name.

President Akufo-Addo has tasked the Office of the Special Prosecutor to unravel the identities of Ghanaian public officials said to have been engaged in the bribery scandal with Airbus after a revelation from a UK court order that indicts a high government official who was involved in the entire saga.

But speaking at a press conference held in Accra, Mr Akpaloo stated that, every indication surrounding the corruption scandal points to Mr Mahama therefore their call on him to respond.

He also noted that, the amount of money involved in the purchase of one Airbus was bloated as he says the actual cost was USD 25million but the country bought one for USD 40 million which he questioned those who benefited from the increased amount

Mr Akpaloo again questions the rationale behind the former President’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama following the military team to purchase the airbus since he was a government official to be part of government business.

The US Court in the case titled United States of America versus Airbus SE as defendant with Case No.: 1:20-cr-00021 (TFH) after investigating the matter has come out with some mind-blowing evidence in its deferred prosecution agreement it has just entered with Airbus SE.

Between pages 66 and 70 of the 104-page document, the US Court took its time to explain how Airbus gurus in connivance with a top NDC elected government official supplied Ghana with aircraft in clear contravention of air travel regulations.
