The former Communication Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Solomon Nkansah, has alleged that the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) is a secret agent of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking as a panel member on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7, the former Communication Director revealed that the argument of the NDC is that the Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa is a sympathizer of the ruling political party and cannot be trusted as she will be manipulated by the ruling political party (NPP) during the process of the 2020 general election.
“The NDC is also talking this way because it believes that the NPP will have the opportunity to manipulate the EC in the process. Jean Mensa is NPP sympathizer. And someone who is a sympathizer of the NPP will be managing the data that will be collected for the election”, he told Lawyer Ohene Gyan.
“NPP should tell Ghanaians that if we maintain the current register, the 2020 election would go in favor for them that is why they are in support of the EC’s decision to compile a new register. The NPP’s started saying this long time ago and they are right because they have been very consistent”.
“When the NPP’s are making arguments, they say Charlotte Osei accused Amadu Sulley of making a secret transfer of voters and manipulated the system and it is likely that Jean Mensa will do the same thing Bossman can also do this because they can’t control their interest, other than the interest of seeing to it that it is very credible free atmosphere and transparent.” he lamented.
Speaking on the same platform he said “Jean Mensa is not running ‘Jean Mensa Company Limited’ but running the Republic of Ghana. Maame Jean Mensa does not act in a manner that shows that she has lived about a political recruit. The Constitution guarantees you, but the Constitution doesn’t allow you to do things that will inflame passion. You don’t put out a system that will inconvenient Ghanaians”, Solomon Nkansah reiterated.
