”Automotive vehicle assembling companies to begin first car assembling in Ghana by March Ending”-Trade Minister.

The Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has revealed that the automotive vehicle assembling companies will officially begin the first car assembling by end of March 2020.

He stated that all is set for the various vehicle manufacturing companies to begin full operation and start producing cars in Ghana starting March with Volkswagen (VW) being the first to start making of cars.

Some automobile companies that had earlier signed agreements with the government to establish vehicle assembly plants in the country VW expected to deliver the first car by the end of March as Toyota is looking to begin August and Nissan before 2020 ends.

Speaking at the day one of the government’s Results Fair launched in Accra, Mr. Kyeremanten stated that, this move clearly shows the good work of the government that has attracted such big giants in the automotive sector to do business with Ghana.

He added that, the government also seeks to add Pharmaceutical manufacturing to the sectors to help boost the local economy and attract investors as well

Mr. Kyeremanten also used the opportunity to disperse the wrong notion associated with the government’s one district one factory program saying the factories are not solely the one’s government will built but also support well-performing private existing factories to stand on its own.
