Churches Should Be Blamed For Depreciation Of The Cedi – Rev Obofour

The founder and leader of Anointed Chapel International, Francis Antwi, popularly known as Reverend Obofour to his best knowledge has admonished Ghanaians to stop blaming only Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over the depreciation of the cedi.

The depreciation of the Ghana cedi against its major trading currencies is being blamed, at least in part, on churches and how they manage their finances, Rev Obofour has observed.

According to him, most of the churches after Church Service on Sundays change all their monies into other foreign currencies. “With this, there is always instability because if government works on stabilising the cedi during the week, the Churches after doing their transfers make the cedi weak again”, he explained.

Rev Obofour , therefore, noted that the Church has been Ghana’s bane since and the leaders of the churches should desist from such evil acts so that Ghana can develop.
