The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) in the Central Region, Nana Appiah Koran, choked when asked to recount the developmental projects the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has embarked on in the area.
He literally took to his heels Tuesday morning when he could not find words to speak to the burning concerns of residents of the area. The inhabitants of the coastal communities at a Power FM outbroadcast event at Komenda had earlier lamented the slow pace of development and lack of jobs for the youth in the area.
Speaking to co-host of Dwaboase, Kwame Minkah, a number of residents of KEEA could not simply understand why the Komenda sugar factory which is a source of employment to many have been left to rot.
The rate of unemployment according to residents has resulted in numerous social vices with teenage pregnancy high on the table. The expectation of many Ghanaians when the MCE took his seat was to allay fears but the fire and passion from the concerns raised literally ejected him from his chair, and he left without any notice.
The MCE hours later promised to make a date with Mugabe Maase at the same venue after he was inaundated with several calls.
The Power Fm team are expected to move to the Abura market in Cape Coast tomorrow November 6, 2019 where two of the station’s flagship programme, Inside Politics hosted by Mugabe Maase and Dwaboase which will be hosted by Kwame Minkah
