There was no need for me to congratulate Sarkodie – Shatta Wale explains why

Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie and dancehall artiste Shatta Wale used to be very good friends.

However, their relationship turned sour when Sarkodie recorded a diss song to Shatta Wale dubbed “Advice” which caused a stir on social media.

Sarkodie made history as he beat competition from Falz (Nigeria), Ghetts (U.K.), Kalash (France), Lil Simz (U.K.), Nasty C (South Africa) and Tory Lanez (Canada) to emerge the winner of the Best International Flow at the 2019 BET HipHop Awards.

After Sarkodie was announced as the winner of the Best International Flow at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards, fans of the prolific rapper in their excitement took to twitter to shade his old friend now turned enemy, Shatta Wale.

Tonnes of congratulatory messages flooded Sarkodie’s social media handle but conspicuously missing was that of Shatta Wale.

Well, Shatta Wale in an interview with Paul Adom Okyere on his ever-popular Good Evening Ghana programme aired on Metropolitan (Metro TV) revealed that he saw no need for him to congratulate Sarkodie after his famous BET win.

According to Shatta Wale, he said he has a problem with Sarkodie so he cannot behave like a hypocrite and go ahead to congratulate him.

He also said he’s not obsessed with awards like Sarkodie does hence he found no reason to congratulate him.
