The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be electing parliamentary candidates for its ‘orphan constituencies’ on Saturday, 28 September 2019 ahead of the 2020 general elections.
The ‘orphan constituencies’ are those with seats held by the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
There are 106 of them but the party has put six on hold.
The primaries in the remaining constituencies which have NPP MPs are scheduled for January 2020.
The NPP currently has the majority in parliament.
