I cannot step out of my room since that statement came out, JM should just apologise” – Joseph Yammin

Former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Joseph Yammin has requested an apology from NDC Flagbearer, John Mahama, after a statement issued from him described the King of Asante a Liar.

The ensuing anger amongst members of the Asanteman Traditional Council and the Chiefs and people have sent cold sweat down the balls of key NDC figures in the Ashanti Region.

This morning, NDC stalwart, National Council member and former Ashanti Regional Secretary Joseph Yammin after failing to show up as a regular Monday morning panellist revealed through a telephone interview shivering fears for his safety and the political fortunes of the NDC in the region.

“I was advised to stay away from the show this morning. Anger cannot be seen with the eyes but the level of anger in the atmosphere here in Asanteman is clear and heavy, I advised the Chairman to park all the party cars for now. They will burn it. How can you even suggest that Otumfuor is a Liar? How?” He mumbled.

In an almost inaudible tone, he said “see, in our set-up, it is said that even when an elderly person passes wind, you act as though nothing has happened. Ahba! Senior Julius and JM should have known better.”

“Now all the work we have done is Zero, this thing will follow us for over 50 years. Mahama will be gone but they will still refer us to it. Why did they fail to call a council meeting on this before this “useless” reply? Now see the problem. I can’t even go and give water to my cattle”

Asked what the party should do, he said, “This is a Kingdom that stretches across several regions. John Mahama must quickly go to some prominent rulers, maybe the Okyenhene or Yaa-Naa to come and do a public apology for this big mistake. Otumfour and Asanteman may forgive us so that some of us will be able to move around freely, but I know they will never forget. Even when we make Mahama step aside. They will vote against us more than before. I know my people.”

Concluding, the obviously disappointed former NDC Secretary, indicated that, for his safety and that of his followers, he will desist from any NDC related activity until the coast is clear.
