FDA chases owners of huge consignment of expired Lucozade after been exposed

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has confiscated hundreds of crates of expired canned Lucozade energy drink at Hong Kong, a suburb of Accra near Lapaz.

Accra 100.5FM’s Nana Ama Agyarko, who first got wind from some whistleblowers about alleged plans by the owners of the consignment to alter the expiry date on the drinks, notified the FDA whose officials stormed the place unannounced and busted the owners.

The expired drinks were impounded and two people arrested.

The expiry date on the drinks was being altered from 20 September 2019 to 20 September 2020, according to Nana Ama Agyarko.
