Passengers Kill Driver, Escape With Car

PASSENGERS on board a taxi cab with registration number AS 16112-18 from Tepa to Sunyani have shot the driver to death and escaped with the car.

The driver, whose name was revealed as Solomon, 27, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. John of God Hospital at Duayaw Nkwanta after he was found on the road drenched in blood. He was rushed to the hospital by another taxi driver.

The Good Samaritan driver, Yaw Kuma, told police at Duayaw Nkwanta that on 22nd August 2019 at about 6 am, he was moving from Bechem to Sunyani when he found the victim on the shoulder of the road and was at the point of death.

According to Kuma, he was informed by Solomon that he (Solomon) was hired by some unknown passengers at Tepa to Sunyani in the Bono Region but on reaching Wawase, the supposed passengers shot at him, pulled him out of the car and drove away.

The police in the region confirmed the incident and said investigations were ongoing to arrest perpetrators.
