Bagbin finally bows out of Parliament

Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nadowli West Constituency, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has finally bowed out of parliament.

The longest-serving lawmaker at the close of nominations did not pick a form to contest the 2020 general elections on the ticket of the NDC signifying his desire to quit the legislature after 2020.

Hon. Bagbin who suffered a stiffer opposition within his party in the run up to the 2016 elections, maybe quitting to allow peace prevail in the party though sources reveal to MyNewsGh that he will officially reveal his reasons for staying off.

The former flagbearer aspirant has served as an MP for seven consecutive terms since 1993.

Meanwhile, a total of 46 people have picked up nomination forms to contest in the parliamentary primaries in all the eleven constituencies of the Upper West region.
