NR: Police gives account on 4 MDCEs accident

The Northern regional police public relation officer, DSP Mohammed Ussif Tanko has this afternoon issued a statement articulating setback that led to the fetal accident of four MMDCEs from the region. 

He said, On 24/06/2019 at about 05:50am, Suspect driver Karim  Zakaria  aged 32 years  was incharge of Mercedes Benz saloon with registration No. GC 6196-11driving from Accra heading towards Tamale with two persons on board.

On reaching a section of the road at Zanzugu Yipala village on Tamale- Kintampo  motor road, he  veered  off  his lane and  collided  with  Nissan Patrol with registration No. GT 8465-19 driven by Ibrahim Abukari aged 27 years who was also driving from Tamale heading towards Wa in the Upper West Region.

Four persons on board included, Ahmed Abubakari Iddrisu  aged 50 years, Zabzugu DCE; Abdulai Yakubu 51 years, Bimbilla DCE; Mohammed Hashim Abdallah aged 48 years, Mion DCE and Musah Issah aged 44 years, Gushiegu DCE.

All the occupants on both accident vehicles sustained serious injuries, and were rushed to the Tamale Teaching hospital for treatment where they were admitted. Both accident vehicles were seriously damaged.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Nurudeen of Atinka news who visited the teaching hospital told NorthernWebGh.com that the victims are responding to treatment.

According to him preparations were underway to airlift some of the victims to the national capital, for further medical attention
