Some schools are giving out their best while others are spectators at the ongoing National Science and Maths Quiz as Ola Senior High school will once again have to rely on the results from other contests to secure a qualification to the one-eighth stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
The Ho-based school failed to defeat Central Region’s Edinaman Senior High in Thursday’s first contest and must wait to be counted among the 18-high-scoring losing schools.
Edinam SHS who from the qualifiers proved their worth, managed to widen the points between them and other contestants from the start of the contest.
UGBS: End of contest:
Edinaman SHS: 45pts
OLA SHS, Ho: 32pts
Ahantaman Girls’ SHS: 20pts
The progression of Ola, even if they make it to the one-eighth stage, cannot be called as they would be facing a seeded school plus a school that won their contest.
Ahanta SHS who were also part of the competition could not give much reason for their participation in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz as if it was a child’s play.
With the tallies of the current 18 high-scoring-losing schools, Ahantaman is already out.
